Classic 'cantilever' chair ('freischwinger' in German) with leather seat and metal frame. It has springs that hold the leather in place, a little bit like a classy corset. The colour is a muted burnt ornage, and not as vibrant as the photos (we are working on the photo colour correction). It would make a great statement chair.
It is a similar syle to chairs made by the Austrian furniture company Thonet, or Dutch designer Martin Stam, though there is no label.
This chair's back was damaged, and has been expertly repaired (see photos) by local leather workshop Rehovot, a work integration project that supports Swiss asylum seekers, and over 800 have participated since it was founded in 1998. The price of the chair covers the cost of the repair.
It is currently in the shop for you to test.
