This Fischel chair is in the same style as the bent-wood bistro chairs first developed by Thonet in the 1840s. The Fischel company was set up in the 1870s, along with a number of other companies that were established when the Thonet patent expired. They have become valuable in their own right, and sought after pieces.
This is a beautiful example of the bistro chair, with a decorative pressed wood seat and back. It is in good, stable condition. We don't know when this chair was manufactured, but likely the first half of the 20th C (before 1950).
