There seem to be all sorts of sneaky people out there harvesting your data and doing who knows what with it. We will do our best to keep your data safe, and we have no intention of giving or selling it to other companies, organisations or individuals for nefarious purposes.
We need basic data about you to be able to sell you our lovely furniture, otherwise we wouldn’t be able to process the transaction and deliver it to you. We also like to send updates by email every so often – it’s a really important part of how we market our business. Both of these cases means we need to collect and keep data about you on file.

Personal Information Third Parties Collect
We use a third-party e-commerce platform called Shopify, which integrates the following third-party applications in our webshop:
- Social Sharing Buttons
- Hide Paypal in-cart
- WhatsApp Share
Their servers may automatically record information, including information that your browser sends. This log data may include your web address you came from or are going to, your device model, operating system, browser type, unique device identifier, IP address, mobile network carrier, and time zone or location.
In the course of offering the e-commerce services, Shopify uses a number of machine learning algorithms and forms of automated decision-making. For example, they use automated decision-making: to prevent risk and fraud by merchants; to help merchants avoid fraudulent transactions from their customers; and to determine eligibility for certain services.
Most of these algorithms are not fully automated and include some human intervention (for example, customer risk and fraud scores are provided to ecochair.ch, who must intentionally decide how to act on them). Shopify has a small subset of fully automated fraud screening blacklists, which, if they believe a transaction was made using stolen or fraudulent payment information, may stop a customer from completing a transaction--but only for a period of between a few hours and a few days.

In the course of offering the e-commerce services, Shopify automatically collects information through cookies and similar technologies to: (i) personalize our webshop, such as remembering a users information so that the user will not have to re-enter it during a visit or on subsequent visits; (ii) provide customized advertisements, content, and information; (iii) monitor and analyze the effectiveness of the webshop and third-party marketing activities; (iv) monitor aggregate site usage metrics such as total number of visitors and pages viewed; and (v) track your entries, submissions, and status in any promotions or other activities on the Service. Minors and children’s policy
Protecting the privacy of young children is especially important. Our webshop ecochair.ch is not directed to children under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under the age of 18 without obtaining parental consent. If you are under 18 years of age, then please do not use or access the webshop ecochair.ch at any time or in any manner. If we learn that Personal Data has been collected on the webshop from persons under 18 years of age and without verifiable parental consent, then we will take the appropriate steps to delete this information. Subject to applicable law, we will retain and use your account information only as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
You may opt-out of receiving ecochair.ch email marketing materials by using the unsubscribe link in these communications. You can also email email@example.com and ask to stop email communications. Please note it can take up to 7 days to process your request.
We will retain your data and order information until you ask us to delete this information. To request removal of your data please email firstname.lastname@example.org . All requests will be processed within 30 days from the time of the request.
