If you’re intrigued and feeling inspired to dig deeper into the world of straw bale construction, I can not recommend enough spending a week with like-minded peeps, camping, eating, laughing, singing and telling jokes by a bonfire, learning, and day by day, bonding with new friends while working towards a common goal.

Life is a balancing act and so is packaging

Yes, the packaging takes up more space than the actual item – which is the box on the top right of the picture.  I was outraged. Having said that, I do realize there is a delicate balance to protecting the items during transport and minimizing the use of packaging material.

Do you ever find yourself in this argument:

          I don’t need it.

                  But I want it.

                           But I don’t need it.

                                    Ooh, but I want it…

That was totally me at the design fair ‘Blickfang’ last week! What a gorgeous collection of high-quality European-designed-created-produced goods. It was my first time at the annual fair, and I must say, as someone who actively tries to reduce the amount of ‘things’ I own, it was SUCH. A. CHALLENGE.
